“There was great excitement in Ardee Community School today when Irish Therapy Dogs visited our 2nd Year JCSP class. Nine therapy dogs and their owners came into the classroom and immediately captured the attention of students and teachers. The volunteer owners introduced the dogs to the pupils and spoke to them about the work they do and the benefits the dogs bring to the elderly people they visit on a weekly basis.
For over an hour the students got to pet and play with the dogs and chat to the volunteers who expertly answered all questions with good humour and knowledge. Amid the excitement the dogs behaved perfectly and they really captured the imagination of all of the students.
All in all, it was an inspirational and truly educational visit. The JCSP class were talking about it nonstop for the rest of the day! Thanks to Irish Therapy Dogs for their time and dedication and for giving us a memorable experience.”
