Frequently Asked Questions

Please be aware that Irish Therapy Dogs do not assist with the provision of Service Dogs for:

  • the visually impaired;
  • children with Autism;
  • people living with physical disabilities; or
  • those suffering with anxiety, depression or related conditions.

If you wish to volunteer with your dog, please visit our page Become a Volunteer Visiting Team where you will find very helpful information on our programmes.  You will also see the requirements necessary for both the person and the dog to volunteer with Irish Therapy Dogs.  If you then wish to download a Visiting Team Application Form along with a Garda Vetting Inviter Form.  When complete please post to the address on the form.  We will then be in contact to arrange an interview for you and an assessment for yourself and your dog.

If you would like one of our dogs to visit your Care Centre, please download a Care Centre Application Form. When complete please post to the address on the form.  We will then be in contact with you  to arrange placement when we have a Visiting Team available in your area.

PLEASE NOTE: IRISH THERAPY DOGS ARE NOT SERVICE DOGS

Currently there is no accreditation for emotional support dogs in Ireland.

It is not part of Irish Therapy Dogs programme to accredit dogs to satisfy accommodation regulations.  For information on rented accommodation and pets please visit www.threshold.ie

Irish Therapy Dogs do not assist with the provision of Service Dogs.

At present we are unable to arrange one off visits as we are fully booked for the year ahead.
