Irish Therapy Dogs would like to thank Gerry Dooley and his staff at Orchard Home and Garden, Celbridge, Co. Kildare for the warm welcome extended to us at our Awareness Days on May 24th and 25th. We appreciate the promotion and support given, once again, by Gerry and his team to Irish Therapy Dogs. Both days were very successful and we acknowledge the interest shown by their customers in the services we provide to Care Centres and Schools. We hope that, in the future, we will welcome back some of Gerry’s customers as Volunteer Visiting Teams.

 

GOOD NEWS : Irish Therapy Dog Crumpet is back home!

Crumpet 2Irish Therapy Dog Crumpet was reunited with her owner earlier today. She is looking forward to meeting all her friends in St. Mary’s Care Centre, and Praxis Care, Mullingar. Many thanks to all who helped bring her home by sharing our Facebook and Twitter posts!

Irish Therapy Dogs’ Junior Members would like to thank Marta, one of our Volunteers, for the most enjoyable  Balloon Modelling Demonstration she gave to us at our Meeting on Sunday May 18th.  There was lots of fun and laughter as we made our own models – flowers, dogs, snails, swords and many more – under Marta’s watchful eye.  Thank you, Marta, for sharing your skill with us!

Irish Therapy Dogs visit St. Matthew’s Primary School

There was great excitement in St. Matthew’s Primary School, Sandymount when Irish Therapy Dogs visited recently.  A sincere thank you to Principal Naomi Rousseau, the staff and pupils for their warm welcome. Thank you also to our Volunteer Visiting Teams who were present on the day.
Tails wagged, smiles and laughter abounded, as the boys and girls interacted, petted, hugged and chatted with the dogs.  As with all School Visits another very special day that will be remembered and cherished by both the children and our Volunteers alike.
Top Marks to our Junior Member Lara for all the work and effort that she put into organizing the school visit and the ‘odd shoe and sock day’ held on that day.   Thank you for a job very well done Lara!

As National Volunteering Week 2014 draws to a close Irish Therapy Dogs would like to sincerely thank all our Volunteers and their wonderful Therapy Dogs for their dedication and commitment. The joy and happiness their dogs bring to the Residents, Staff and Pupils in the Care Centres and the Schools they visit is something special and is cherished by Residents,Staff, Children and Volunteers alike.

Irish Therapy Dogs would like to thank the students at Cork Institute of Technology for the warm welcome given to our Volunteer Visiting Teams when they visited recently.  The day was a tremendous success as the students availed of the opportunity to de-stress as they interacted with our Therapy Dogs.
