Athbhliain Faoi Mhaise Dhaoibh !
A Very Happy New Year to all our Volunteers, Junior Members, Care Centre Residents and Staff, School Pupils and Teachers, Sponsors and all who supported Irish Therapy Dogs at various events held nationwide throughout 2018. We look forward to meeting you all again in 2019.
2018 was a very special year for Irish Therapy Dogs, as we celebrated our 10th Anniversary. We are very proud that the Charity has flourished throughout the 26 Counties in the 10 years, bringing countless special moments.
The highlight of our celebrations was our Anniversary Barbeque, held on September 8th at The Orchard, Home – Garden – Cafe, Celbridge which was perfect for such an occasion.
We are indebted to Proprietor Gerry Dooley for his kindness and generosity in offering us the venue.
It was a wonderful celebration of the first decade of Irish Therapy Dogs. A superb evening with beautiful music to serenade the guests and a fabulous meal to suit all palates.
There was a great atmosphere among our 300 Volunteers who attended. Everyone enjoyed meeting new friends and hearing about their visits, and also catching up with familiar faces.
Up to 60 Irish Therapy Dogs travelled from near and far and joined the celebrations with great enthusiasm, and happiness to meet their fellow canine volunteers. They behaved themselves admirably. Not a bad bark between them! ?
As the New Year approaches we look forward to expanding our service to many more Care Centres throughout the country.
